Bird dreams symbolize freedom, good news, and the spirit. A beautiful bird flying into your home means good news or a welcome visitor is coming. A bird landing on your hand predicts a good connection or opportunity. A dead or injured bird warns of losing something precious. White birds often symbolize luck, black birds often symbolize bad news.
Animals appearing in dreams — as in "Bird Dream" — often symbolize instinct or a suppressed impulse in Jung's theory of Archetypes. The specific animal and the emotion it evokes in you both shape the meaning far more than a generic dream dictionary entry can.
What was the first emotion you felt when you saw that animal in the dream?
